Here in the lovely state of Kansas, summers...well, they suck. One day will be virtually perfect! The next day we will get 4 inches of rain with tornadoes and then after the rainbow....that beautiful rainbow....we get HOT! Yesterday it was 97 with heat index of 100+. Same story today...sigh. ( I know some of you have it much worse...but this is my pity party!) So, here is what I do when I stay indoors. I feed the birds...early and watch them all day from my desk.
Yesterday it was these fellas, I think they are some variety of finch, and my cardinal Momma, who visits with her fella, everyday! Today, all I've seen is Grackles. They are loud boogers! Every now and again, Cooper runs out and chases them away...they are disturbing his nap!

Those are great pics!!! Your summers sound nasty like our's, though we are not prone to tornadoes like you guys are. Hurricanes are always a possibility but very rare. I would love summer if it weren't for the humidity. Thankfully it is not humid every day. We do get some gorgeous summer days!
