Well, as you know, Dwen had surgery a week ago...and on Thursday of this week, he had an appointment to see his surgeon. His Momma drove him, so I could watch Luke. He had been having issues with back spasms and shortness of breath all week and he wanted the doc to look into why. The doc didn't like what he saw when Dwen came in for his visit and sent Dwen to the ER to get another sonogram and CT scan. There was talk of a blood clot but soon that rumor faded. There was a build up of fluid in the place where the gall bladder was. The admitted him on Thursday and had him scheduled for a drainage tube to be installed....sorry, I have no idea what the proper name of it is. Much to Dwen's dismay...another hole to be added to his chest. So, now we spend the night. He is recieving pain meds, and they put him on oxygen....standard, I'm sure.
Friday, hoping to go home.....they tell us that he needs to move off pain meds giving through the IV and take pill form in order to go home....we accomplished this. Then they said, we need to get his oxygen levels in his blood up. They are afraid he will get pnemonia with the shallow breathing so we do breathing exercises and get his number s up...so we can go....no such luck. We get to stay yet another night in the hospital. Dwen insist that I go home to rest and care for our dogs.
Saturday morning.....the surgeon stops in and says that there is some bacteria in the fluid and that he wants us to meet with "infectious disease" doctor. As soon as we see him...we can (hopefully) go home. The surgeon is cool with us leaving today. I just hope it is before 5 pm....we have a storm system rolling in...looks ugly! Think happy thoughts for us today, please!

I hope you get to go home and thinking good thoughts and sending prayers!
OMG!!! Sending lots of good vibes and positive thoughts Dwen's way!!! I hope they can figure out what is going on and heal him. And, Dwen is right, girl. As much as you don't want to leave his side you need to get some rest. You have to take care of you if you want to take care of him! I know I can't physically be there but if you need anything just call! xoxo
P.S. I am still looking for the gum. Do you remember where you got it when you were here?
No...just a souvenir stand? If not...no biggie! Thanks for your good vibes...we both can use a crap ton of them now!
I hope y'all are both home resting now! I'm so sorry Dwen is going through all this and you too. I know it is worrisome and exhausting. Sending prayers and hugs.
The storm totally missed us...all it did was spit rain....it didn't freeze! And, Dwen had a central line put in last night...the IV line that he required in order to come home....it looks and I'm hopeful (but I've been hopeful for 3 days) that they are gonna let him out today. Now the home care will be an adventure...but at least it will be at home! Thank you all for the good mojo!
Sending prayers and good thoughts your way!
