Today was a pretty stress free day....can you believe it??? I called this morning and the test results came back...he was at 7.4 and now he is at 5.8! HOOORRRAAY! No dialysis today! They will check him again Monday morning and decide what to do from there. I figured he had a ton to think about and yesterday was pretty exhausting for everyone so I stayed at home taking care of business here and went to see him around 3. He is doing soooo much better. Everything else is where it is suppose to be. He was up and using his laptop, watching tv. Visiting with his parents and me. Sara came up but he was pretty drained by then and he needed to sleep so we left. I called about 30 minutes ago and they said he was having some o.j. and watching "The Mummy". Does my heart good to hear this! I love him soooo much! Can't wait until tomorrow....send all the good mojo you got to him please....we are hoping his kidneys just needed a jump start!
Monday, March 22:Went up to the hospital today at 8 am. His levels went from 5.8 to 6.2. They did a 3 hour dialysis treatment today. Those wear him out so he rested for about 2 1/2 hours after. They tried to get him to eat breakfast and he felt nauseous. When his surgeon came by, he made it sound like Dwen would get one more night in ICU then go upstairs! WOOOHOOO! I caught him in the hall and told him Dwen has a thing he wants to attend on the 27th....if we are still in the hospital would he be allowed a pass to go to this event...and he didn't see a problem with that. So, I also mentioned to him that Dwen is a nocturnal creature and 7 am feedings will make him sick everytime so they changed his food order so now, when Dwen wants to eat...he tells them. A physical therapist came by and introduced herself and told D that they will be taking strolls around the floor once he is upstairs. Mom & Dad came up to visit too....and after our hour of being kicked out....Dyna & Todd came for a visit. When I left...he wasn't feeling great but he's in good hands tonight with the nurse that is on duty! She's pretty cool!
