Today when I arrived at the hospital, Dwen's blood pressure was 122 then an hour later 111, then and hour or so later 97, where it has been most of the day. They came in and said his white blood count is up...and his temps are 98-99. They had one piece of bad news however, his kidney numbers have gotten worse. They are keeping a close eye on it but they also said the antibiotics he was on were harmful to the kidney and they have him on a more kidney friendly one. He has been sleeping most of the day. He did get up and sit in a chair for a while. He also fell asleep while flipping the channels on the tv...he left it on BET...I had to change it. Every commercial had rap music....lol. I am good, I will tell you all that I locked my damn keys in my car last night. Dyna (SIL) drove me to the house so I could grab Dwen's set. We have the keyless entry pad on the door...but guess who didn't know her number? Guess where the numbers were? In my glovebox! I sure am prudy!
Wednesday, March 17:
Today at the 'country club'....his numbers are all good except the kidneys. Those numbers went higher which is bad...however, I was told they look at two sets of numbers, and while one is going up the other is holding steady and that is a good thing. He is so lethargic on the pain meds that basically all he does is mumble. This concerns us and we asked about it. The docs decided to take him off the morphine and start him on something else given through the IV. They also started him on nutrients through is IV. After about 12 or so he starts talking and talking but making no sense at all. At one point he was trying to undo the cords/tubes/wires so he could leave because he thought Sara (DD) was having surgery and no one explained why to him and by God...he wasn't having it. It irrated him when I told him Sara wasn't having surgery. So, finally I told him it was rescheduled and he calmed down some. He decribed movies to me, movies he had seen....he was playing video games, using his hands and everything; yelling something about Nazi zombies in a 'Jewish" hospital {awesome} and even gave Dyna (SIL) a hard time about some film footage he shot and he wanted the DVD. The nurses say to talk them back to reality but he gets frustrated and anxious....sometimes agreeing with him seems to calm him more. They said it is because the morphine is flushing out of his system and it lingers in the kidney and since his is jacked...it is going to take a while. It was scary, and comical at times. I just want my D back! In one piece!
Thursday, March 18:
I woke up around 2:30 am feeling yucky! My dinner was sitting on my tummy like a brick! Felt as if I may have a fever but couldn't check because the thermometer is at the hospital with Dwen. I called and checked on Dwen....they said he had a rough night....not good! I stayed away from the hospital today...and it kills me but Sharon (MIL) and I stayed in contact all day. His kidney levels went up...just a little. They did a CT scan and there isn't any abscesses lingering and his lungs are about the same...no pneumonia yet! His white blood count is now high because it is making too much, he has been running a fever from 102-101.8. He is still trippin' out from being taken off the morphine...and while it is comical it is also scary to watch. Rita (BFF) went up for a few hours and hung out with him. I never get sick...and this is the one time, I shouldn't be sick. The evening nurse said he was have a few lucid moments...he knew where he was, who the president was and the what day it was. I slept a lot and did what everone told me to so from rest to eat crackers and drink 7-up. Took pepto and ibuprofen. I wanna just be with D.
