Green

In case you didn't know, my hubby is a film maker. He makes actual movies and a couple years back he made his first one with me...not his first one ever...my first one ever. It is very exciting and a lot of work. My green post for the Rainbow Summer School, is about GREEN SCREEN. Y'all know how it works, right?

Chroma key compositing (or chroma keying) is a technique for compositing two images or frames together in which a color (or a small color range) from one image is removed (or made transparent), revealing another image behind it.

Here are the actors in front of the green screen...

Same shot...with everything dropped in and color corrected.

It is fun to watch the transformation..........

but it isn't always easy to work with!!

Join us for Rainbow Summer School over at Jenny's.

Very cool!! I had never thought much about how the actual screen gets to the set...I don't know how I thought people got in front of it, in a magical building somewhere or something I suppose! :) Thanks for sharing!

Very interesting! I didn't know that was the way it was done.

What a great green post...I'm sure I'd been amazed at all the other film techniques used to make movies :-)

That's amazing the way it's done. I just noticed on your side bar it's 63 degrees by you. I'm packing my bags!

It is amazing how that simple screen can be used to take me so many places.

It may start out at 63 degrees here but by the end of the day it will be 93 or higher. Sigh! Can't wait until fall!

That is so cool! I know absolutely nothing about it other than they refer to it as the green screen on the local news. Very interesting.
