Headed to Muir Woods which was across the golden gate bridge.
As we went up...we saw this....which was gorgeous!
Arriving at Muir Woods, a nice nature trail awaited. It was sprinkling the entire time and we were the only ones without proper rain jackets (we did have an umbrella)...but it didn't matter. The trees were phenomenal!
The only wild life we saw was a doe and her fawn and one lonely chipmunk.
We aren't sun burnt...we were wind burnt!
For lunch, we stopped in Sausalito, and did some shopping too. Cute little town.
When we went to the visitors center, when we first arrived in SF, we met a lady who happened to be from KC...and she told us the best places to go. We told her we were renting a car and visiting the woods and she told us that on the way back over the bridge, to take a service road up this hill...to get the best photos of the bridge with the city in the background!
Boy was she right! Breathtaking! Except the wind did some crazy shit to my do!
Back on the SF side of the bridge, they have a park area...the touristy place to go! Here's me, looking oh so lovely!
However, it was still beautiful....even on a cloudy, rainy day!
Then we went to the Exploratorium...which is a giant science city. A cool interactive place for kids and adults alike. We had fun in there! We walked the grounds and I have no idea what the building is behind Dwen...but I love the architecture of it! I believe this was the Japanese gardens but it was closed for renovations...but not 100% sure. We had a great time on our 'a month late, anniversary trip'!!
