Saying good-bye

A while back I wrote a blog page about my friend, Cherie. Cher has been in her wheelchair for about 15 years. She was in an auto accident and broke her back and severed her spinal cord. She has a very positive attitude and doesn't get down or depressed....see link above....however, today was a very tough day for my sister. She had to put her chocolate lab, Mocha, down. Mocha was a beautiful lady. She wasn't a service dog...(she never went to school)....but she was Cher's service dog, her daily companion and her best friend. I worked for Cherie for about 5 years...and Mocha greeted me everyday, gave me kisses and loved me and my kids as if we were her family. I am crushed by the news I recieved this morning...so I can only imagine the pain my dear friend is feeling. There are no words to comfort her. I know in my heart that Mocha is happy and is no longer in pain....she is running around with my boy Franky. Like they did...days ago. We will never forget you girl! We love you!

Oh Carol! I am so sorry your friend had to say goodbye to her sweet Mocha. I know it is the hardest thing to do, but I know that Mocha has crossed that Rainbow Bridge where she is happy and free from pain and is playing with all her new friends. And she will be Cherie's special angel...and she will wait for her. One day they will be together again!

I know, I feel so bad for her. Mocha was the best dog ever! I know people think it is silly that we are grieving a dog, but Mocha was so much more than that to Cherie.
Even my 4 year old will miss Mocha, she touched everyone she met.

There is nothing silly about grieving the passing of an old friend, four legged or two. I'm sorry. Will keep all of you in my prayers over this devastating loss. Big hugs on this sad day Carol.
